Technical Specifications

The VGi Evo CT scanner is a versatile and efficient device with many examination modes dedicated to an extensive selection of clinical applications.

The VGi Evo CT scanner features advanced technological components, such as:

  • The large sensor allows field examination up to 24 x 19 cm with an increased signal-noise ratio.

  • The generator with a rotating anode and a focal depth of 0.3 mm allows capturing very high-definition images to see details and microstructures that cannot be investigated with standard technological devices.

  • The reconstruction algorithms and image processing, which is the result of NewTom's twenty years of experience, allow for fast capture of excellent two- and three-dimensional images.

In addition, the VGi Evo enables even better patient support and in particular:

  • The head support unit offers 7 stability (contact) points and laser guides for maximum precision in patient positioning.

  • The system is user-friendly and efficient, it is completely free of metal to avoid artifacts in the image.

  • The chin support allows the position of the field of view to be aligned with the anatomical area of interest via a servo-assisted movement from the image capture workstation.

Additional benefits

  • A single CBCT scan with Sharp 2D mode can automatically generate a series of 2D views that include panoramic images and a sequence of teleradiographic images (AP, PA, and LL) as well as full 360-degree rotation to quickly obtain superior quality.

  • The aMAR algorithm creates an additional set of images that clearly shows anatomical structures even when there are many metal objects, such as amalgam or implants, that could impair image quality.

  • The degree of accuracy of NewTom Cone Beam CT technology is decisive in cases of endodontics, periodontology and otolaryngology, which require high resolution.

  • The generator with rotating anode and 0.3 mm focus point allows capturing very high definition images to see details and microstructures that cannot be explored with standard technological devices.

  • The choice of visual field determines the extent of the anatomical area analyzed. VGi Evo complies with international standards based on the "ALARA" (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle, the purpose of which is to reduce the dose absorbed by the patient. There are many types of fields that the technologist can choose from depending on the needs of each patient.

  • The HiRes function, which can be used for FOV up to 15 x 5 cm, is ideal for localized anatomical areas with an amazing standard of detail and sharpness.

  • The ECO scan function, which can be used with all FOVs, allows to reduce the irradiated dose by 50% to protect the health of both patient and operator.

  • Exclusive Boosted and Enhanced modes allow excellent standards of detail and image quality to be achieved when clinically required for highly uncompromising wide-range FOV.

  • The use of small FOVs is indicated for endodontics, periodontal and implantological examinations in specific areas selected by the user.

  • Medium-sized FOVs are indicated for ENT (otolaryngology) and TMJ (temporomandibular joint) applications or complete denture examination and implant design.

  • MAXILLO FOV up to 24 x 19 cm for full view of the entire maxillofacial area.

  • Simultaneous view of both temporomandibular joints for symmetrical analysis and detection of problems or dysfunctions resulting from joint diseases.
